Hello everyone!
So, lets talk eyes!
When it comes to eye liner, I'm pretty simple. And I don't wear it everyday. I usually use a plain old black pencil (Bonne Bell in Black Ink...LOVE IT!) but when I decided to get some "natural" make-up for my birthday last year, I ended up with something from Tarte.
I got the EmphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner in black and boy did it surprise me! It goes on like a liquid. It's absolutely scrumptious! It's so smooth and yet it doesn't smudge a bit! It did take me a little practice to apply it the way I like. But I would definitely recommend this liner to all my friends!
When it comes to mascara, I'm really picky. My lashes are difficult to deal with so I need just the right product to get the look I want. I've had many favorites over the years (The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara, Diorshow mascara <-but I don't want to pay so much for something I use every day). Once I started getting addicted to Rimmel Cosmetics, I just had to give their mascara a try. Lo and behold, I found my new favorite!
Rimmel Glam'Eyes Waterproof Mascara in Black is the staple in my make-up bag! As long as they continue to sell it, I won't ever replace it with anything else! I LOVE THIS MASCARA! I love how the rubber bristles separate and coat my eye lashes unlike any other mascara I've tried. It also defines and darkens your lashes so they look alluring and really pop. And most of Rimmel's products are made in England! I tend to try to stay away from products made in china. I have nothing against them, just a personal preference. And when Rimmel says waterproof...they mean it. You can cry your eyes out and it will stay put.
One thing I do want to try is their Stay Matte foundation. I'm not one for wearing full-on face make-up daily but I like to have a good product in my arsenal for when I do wear it.
I do own Korres Wild Rose powder. It does help keeping the shine off but I have to apply it throughout the day and I just don't have the patience to do that. I understand there likely isn't a product out there that will keep my face matte all day long, but I want something I don't have to apply every couple of hours. Maybe I am asking too much.
When it comes to eye lids, you need a good base. I went so many years before I even discovered there was such a thing as an eyelid primer. Now I can't live without it.
My eye shadow creases so badly when I don't use a primer.
I am currently using L'Oreal Decrease eye shadow primer($9). And for the most part, it's alright. I find that it doesn't last all day though. By the time I get home I am creasing.
The last primer I used, Bare Escentuals Prime Time eye primer ($18), was AMAZING! I thought I would try a lower cost option but I have to admit, I think I will be going back to the BE Prime Time eye primer. Even though it is double the cost, that one stick last me 3 months and I am already done half the tiny bottle of the L'Oreal in one month. Plus, the BE lasts all day and all night. No creasing whatsoever! LOVE IT! Best part is I just read on Sephora's website that they've repackaged the BE Prime Time AND it's now DOUBLE THE SIZE!!! I know what I will be buying when the L'Oreal runs out!
Will post more later!
