I Love That!

I love Cameos and have several cameo necklaces- so when I saw this I just fell in love.

I saw this little wooden handbag on ebay and couldn't believe how awesome it was! You can't get much more cute than this little vintage piece.

I love stockings and think these are about the sweetest pair I've seen in a long time! I intend to do a diy for making your own at some point.

I have had this little cardigan in my mind since I saw it for sale on ebay a few weeks ago. I fully intend to make my own.

I just saw these boots today and I can't tell you how deeply in love I am! Sad thing is they are made in Japan and I just don't trust to send for an item that far over seas :(

I have to say this is the cutest pair of pants I've about ever seen in my life. I'm going to see if I can't DiY a pair of my own at some point.

DiY Owl Sleep Mask

This is a super easy sleep mask. It shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes to make. Eventually I'll get around to making a more difficult version but until then, I hope you enjoy this one.

Start with making your pattern. I used an old eye mask I already had laying around and added 3 points to the top. Mine was about 7.5 inches by 3.25 inches wide.

Cut out your pattern using two different colored pieces of fleece. Be sure to cut seam allowance.

Next cut out two white circles and two smaller black ones out of felt.

Sew the black circles onto the white ones by hand- I used a large needle and yarn.

Next sew your eyes onto the top layer of your mask.

You can use elastic to fit your mask around your face but I'm going to use ribbon. To best do this cut two small pieces of ribbon that you can fold in half to make loops.

Pin your pieces wrong sides together. Be sure to also pin your ribbons or elastic on the inside (the purple pins are where my ribbon is pinned) Sew around being sure to leave an opening to turn your mask right side out.

Cut small slits at the corners between your points and turn right side out.

Sew a top stitch around your mask closing the small gap you left open.

Sew the middle point down.

Thread ribbon through your loops so you can easily secure your mask on while sleeping and you are done!

Pom Pom Owl

Possibly the most fashionable icon right now is the owl. You see it in everything from, sweaters, watches, handbags and hats. I have to admit, I was inspired.

So I made an owl out of pom poms. It's my small way of being apart of the fad.

To make your pom poms cut out two cardboard circles with smaller circles inside of them.

Place your two pieces of cardboard together and wrap your yarn around the two pieces. (I found it easiest to do this if you make a little cardboard spool for your yarn)

Wrap yarn around your circles 2-3 times until full.

Using your scissors cut your yarn along the outside edge of your circle.

Cut a piece of yarn and slip it between your two pieces of cardboard. Tie a tight knot between the two pieces.

Slip your two pieces of cardboard out and you should have a pom pom.

Make a second smaller pom pom for the head of your owl.

With some scrap fabric or felt cut out two little wing shapes.

Using the extra length of string from when you tied your pom poms, tie the two pieces together to make a head and a body. I used the extra length to also make a little bow tie. With your hot glue gun glue your wings between your head and body and your head and body together.

Use felt to make eyes and a beak and hot glue them on to the front of your owl creating it's face and you are done!
